Student Starts Art Charity

Keirceten Nelson is a sophomore who wants to make a change. She plans to make a charity that will raise money through artwork. The name for the charity has yet to be determined. The charity will sponsor a certain person for a certain number of months. The person will be anonymous but their story will be told on the website being made for the charity.

“I previously wanted to be in the peace core but in light of certain events that doesn’t seem possible,” said Nelson. “I came up with the idea while painting to use art as a way to raise money.”

The charity will be raising money by donations or selling donated artwork. Artists may choose whether they would like to be anonymous or not. 100% of the profit will go to the person sponsored.

According to Nelson, she has been getting the word out by passing out slips of information for people to fill out if they are interested in donating. Apparently many people have been very enthused about the charity.
