From “Work of Art” to “Beautiful Things,” singer Benson Boone’s music career has taken off.

Boone has been singing for the majority of his life and gained fame from his audition on American Idol in 2021 then continued to grow on TikTok with more than 4 million followers on the app. His fame in the soul/pop blend genre began to rise in 2021 when his song “GHOST TOWN” was released. Then in January 2024, his current most popular song, “Beautiful Things” topped music charts. The song spread across the platform with a few trends and a viral video of a little boy singing the song.

My favorites from his “Walk Me Home” album are “Work Of Art” and “Nights Like These,”  and “Coffee Cake” from his album “Pulse.” His voice has emotion, and his music gives me the feels because I can feel how he feels.

“Work Of Art” is about just letting a partner know how much they’re loved. With this song I can really feel how intense his emotions are. The refrain for the song is “And your smile, your smile is like the stars, illuminates the dark, and when I need you most, right here is where you are, even if we’re worlds apart, it’s cinematic, I sit here painting perfect pictures, of every moment with you, I’ve known it from the start, darling, you’re my work of art.

“Nights Like These” is about a person who is going through a break up and trying to move on but is having a rough time doing so. This song feels like I am  going through the waves of emotions with Boone, he’s really telling a story with the way he wrote this song. The refrain is “Now I’m standing at your door, and I hope that you’re not home, so, I can get used to being alone, on nights like these when my willpower’s weak, I’m gonna call, so, just let it ring, I’ll drive these streets, don’t come looking for me, if you’re letting go, then I’m gonna need, more nights like these.”

“Coffee Cake” is about someone who meets the potential love of their life. In this song Boone really paints a picture of the story for the listeners with lyrics like, “Morning coffee down the street where, everybody hopes to meet their perfect guy, you’ve been waiting for some time, guess you’re going, nice to know you never knowing, I’ve been looking through your eyes”

Boone’s music has touched many people and made them feel less alone. Boone is currently on his “Beautiful Things” tour for 2024 going into 2025 with more than 40 concerts.
