Before the first home game Aug. 26, the varsity football team held Senior Night to honor their graduating players.     

The football team competed in the annual North Kansas City School District Jamboree Friday, Aug. 19 at home. They battled against Oak Park, North Kansas City and Winnetonka High School teams, going head to head in a scrimmage event to sharpen their skills before their first game next Friday.

Measuring a part with robotics coach Aaron Dalton, sophomore Luke Freyermuth observes the measurements. Freyermuth said that while creating a robot is a positive experience overall, it does require a time commitment. “It’s rewarding to complete a robot,” Freyermuth said. “It’s also a lot of work. You have to design it, build it, overcome any design challenges you might encounter.”

While one hippo basks in the sun, the other swims around playing with one of its toys, Dec. 5 at the Kansas City Zoo. The hippo playing and jumping is named Cairo, he is the youngest of the two. Cairo was brought to the Kansas City Zoo from Gulf Breeze Zoo in May of 2019. “I learned more about the animals I was looking at than I have at any other zoo,” freshman Kennedy Hildebrand said.
