Crumbl Cookies have recently become the new trend and food craze, and I wanted to see what the hype was all about. The famous TikTok cookie shop just opened up a new location in Liberty, Mo., which gave me the perfect opportunity to do so. Here’s how four of their weekly flavors stack up.

Red Velvet White Chip

This was the cookie I was most excited about when I saw it on the menu, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The red velvet batter was loaded with white chocolate chips – an amazing flavor combination. Somehow, the cookie managed to stay warm by the time I got home from my journey to Crumbl. So when I took my first bite, the chocolate chips were still melted and gooey – just how it should be. I would totally go back for just this cookie alone. 5/5.

Classic Pink Sugar

I had anticipated what the cookie would taste like when I first saw it, and it was disappointing that my prediction was right. The sugar cookie was fine – flaky and warm – but the icing was a major letdown. The cookie was iced with pink almond-flavored frosting, which I personally dislike the taste of. I couldn’t finish more than a couple bites because the frosting’s almond extract was just too overpowering. If they used a different icing, maybe buttercream, then I’d consider getting a frosted cookie again – maybe. 2/5

Caramel Cake

Caramel Cake Cookie (Brooke Holliday)

This one was a sugar cookie with a sweet caramel glaze iced onto the top. My mouth is practically watering just thinking about it. Just like the red velvet white chip, the caramel cake was still warm when I got it home and bit into it. The sugar cookie and caramel blended perfectly together. The flaky, sweet sugar cookie base was balanced out by the dollop of salty, smooth caramel on top. Part of me wishes they had been a little more generous with the caramel, but the same argument could be made that it could be easy to overpower the cookie with too much caramel despite the large size of the sugar cookie. 4.5/5

Boston Cream Pie

This by far was my favorite cookie, and I hope they give this one a permanent spot on the weekly roster. The appearance of the treat alone put it above the other three. The edges of the base were curved upward and pinched like an actual pie crust. The pudding filled the hole, and the ganache layered it in a thin coat on top. Not only was the look of the cookie amazing, the taste was another reason its rating was so high. While the other cookies were also tasty, after a while of eating one, all I wanted was ice water or some other cold drink to wash it down. That’s why when I first tasted the Boston Cream Pie it launched itself to the top of the list. While the sugar cookie base was slightly warm, the pudding and ganache were colder, which was a nice change. 6/5

Although the location was a bit further than I preferred, I can totally see myself going there with my friends after school. When the price was revealed for the four cookies ($13), I was a little surprised. That surprise disappeared when the cookies came out. Each one was bigger than my palm and had about an inch of height to them, so the prices made sense.

The store’s interior was adorable, with the logo pasted onto a pink wall that highlighted the white, black and sandalwood-colored accents. The box was cute, a baby pink rectangle that sported the logo and the name in a sweet font, which made me smile when I saw it.

Overall, Crumbl Cookies are totally worth a trip. Their weekly rotating selection offers enough novelty for customers to continually return, while their staple chocolate chip cookie offers some sense of comfort and stability to the menu.
