Record Breaking Weather

The weather this winter has been a record one. The weather has been changing rapidly throughout the United States. According to Gary Lezak’s blog the record for highest temperature on Jan. 29 was broken at 68°. On Jan. 28 one of the highest winter temperature in history  was recorded at 74°.

“With the weather being so nice I’m able to do more outside,” said senior Laurinda Leak.

Kansas City has not been the only place affected by these weather changes. According to Gregory Spiegel, the Great Lakes are at their lowest levels in history.

“It is not that incredibly unusual. There are fronts that move through quickly and cause the frequent weather change,” said Spiegel.

Spiegel also predicts the drought to stick around for a while affecting many.

“I think the weather will be like this until around summer,” said sophomore Isaac Arbuckle.

The weather has been frequently covered on the news and has been a hot topic throughout the U.S.
