Kennedy Strauch

Kennedy Strauch, Reporter, Photographer

In her freshman year of high school, senior Kennedy Strauch knew she wanted to do something with journalism. She takes English 101 at Maple Woods Community College to contribute to her love for writing. Her interest in writing developed her freshman year when she took creative writing class.

Strauch works at Gladstone Community center doing child watch, fitness floor, outdoor front desk and birthday parties. In her free time she likes reading massive classic books and going on walks with her friends.  

She started out in a photography club at Maryville High School where she lived most of her life. Since it was a small school, they had a small yearbook staff and needed help getting photos of all the sports. In addition to taking photos, she also was in a creative writing class her freshman year. She did this both her freshman and sophomore year and then decided to finally put yearbook into her schedule for next year, but then she ended up moving to Kansas City her junior year.

She is now a senior at Staley High school. Her goal after high school is to go to college majoring in journalism. Her favorite thing to do is write and interview people.

The girls basketball team won the district championship March 5 at Liberty High School against Park Hill South. They now advance to the Class 6 state quarterfinals vs. Rock Bridge High School March 8 at 7 p.m. at home.
