Staley Thespians are preparing for Thursday’s Blue Star Awards ceremony. The “Seussical the Musical” crew was nominated for two of the awards.
Starlight Theatre’s Blue Star Awards is one of the biggest and most respected high school musical theater awards programs in the country. Every year, it celebrates the talent, hard work and outstanding performances of high school students involved in musical theater across the Kansas City area.
“Blue Star nominations mean to me that all of the cast’s hard work is getting appreciated and acknowledged, and we have a chance to win a really cool award for it,” cast member freshman Avelyn Francis said.
On April 30, a representative from Blue Star came to the school and presented the banner announcing the nominations for the show. The musical was nominated for both scenic design and set crew.
The 2026 Blue Star Awards ceremony takes place Thursday, May 21, at 7:30 p.m. at Starlight Theatre. General admission tickets are free but must be reserved in advance.
