Quarterback Jordan Robben takes the ball to the sideline against Raytown on Sept. 6 with a 36-16 win. Robben has been playing for the Falcons for three years, but this is his first season as a Varsity starter. Last year Robben was the Junior Varsity starting quarterback and the third-string Varsity quarterback.

Varsity football quarterback Jordan Robben has some big shoes to fill. For the previous two seasons, Trent Hosick, who is now a student at the University of Missouri, led the football team.

Coach Fred Bouchard said he knew Robben was going to start a long time ago. He said Robben just wanted to get better.

“Jordan is a really good player, and many people see him just as a stand-up guy,” said Bouchard.

Bouchard said he chose Robben over all of the other quarterbacks because he just played the best, and he brought the best package available.

“In the fall I knew Jordan was going to start, and I told him to just keep working hard and it will pay off.  Jordan is a great leader and a really great guy to be around,” said Faizol Bouchard, varsity’s starting running back.

Robben has a big mental task, being the starting quarterback.

” I just focus on the task at hand,” Robben said.

Robben has done a lot to prepare himself for this year. He said he works hard every day and tries to make the team better as much as he can.
