Baseball Slides Into Season

The boy’s baseball team started of the season with chilly weather and snowy fields, causing them to postpone some games. The team has played in the Metro and Raytown tournament winning one game in the Metro tournament and two in the Raytown tournament.

“The team has improved a lot considering we haven’t really been on the field that long,” said baseball coach David Wilson

The seniors on the team are showing excellent leadership this season, according to Wilson.

“The team is doing pretty well so far,” said senior Zach Stonecipher. “I’m looking forward to playing Kearney at the end of the season. They did some not so nice things last year.”

The sophomore team has played no games so far in the season because of weather conditions but had a game scheduled for April 1.

“We work on some fielding stuff in the gym as much as we can,” said sophomore Sam Baker. “We weren’t able to get on the field for a while, so we’re doing our best.”

The next Varsity game is on April 5 at Macken Park against North Kansas City and the next home game is April 8 against Raytown.
