Baseball is Training Hard

The baseball boys are beginning their training for the upcoming season. Since the season starts in a month and a half, until then they are conditioning.

“We are trying to prepare for the season,” said senior Zach Stonecipher.

Every Monday through Thursday the boys have after school workouts. Monday and Thursday they do competition lifting, Tuesdays they do yoga and distance running and Wednesday they do Insanity work out videos. They are encouraged to make some of the workouts according to coach David Wilson.

“Most of the boys take weight lifting so we have the strength in the day and the cardio after school so they can be ready and confident for tryouts,” said Wilson

The tryouts are usually inside and they are beginning open gyms where the boys can throw in the cages soon according to Wilson.

“I’m just ready for the season to start, and to start playing games,” said sophomore Jordan Robben.

The tryouts start on Feb. 25. They do make cuts and will end up keeping around 50 of the boys according to Wilson.
