All over the world, piercings have always been a way of expressing yourself. Some people like the look, some do it for cultural tradition and some do it simply just for fun. Beautiful Body Tattoo and Piercing is a shop in South Kansas City/Martin City, Missouri. They do piercings and tattoos, and their work is eye catching and unique. 

Over the weekend, my friends and I went to Beautiful Body Tattoo to get a belly button piercing (after I finally convinced my mom). My experience was smooth and easy. I have not had any problems since. A week post-piercing it does not hurt and seems to be healing fast. However, everyone will have a different experience depending on factors such as how they react to pain.  

When I arrived, I was greeted at the front. I did not make an appointment — they take walk-ins. I’d say my wait was about five minutes or less. Since I am under 18, I had to bring my birth certificate, and my mom had to have her ID proving I was her daughter.  

Once that process was over, we were taken to the piercing room. My piercers name was Neil, and he was super nice and made my experience less stressful. His area was very clean and professional; it seemed like he had been doing this for a long time. The process was so quick, and I didn’t even see it coming. The cost, including the piercing and jewelry, was $50. However, the website listed a higher price, so that was a pleasant surprise. The piercing itself hurt on a pain scale of 6/10 and was sore for about three days.  

My friend junior Claire Smith also got her belly button pierced. Her parent was not there, so they had to send the piercer a photo of everything that was needed. Claire said her piercing pain was a 4/10.

“It’s not as bad as everyone says,” she said.  

Overall, my experience was great. The environment was welcoming while also professional. I would definitely recommend for anyone contemplating it to get their belly button pierced at Beautiful Body Tattoo. I rate my experience a 10/10.
