As a fan of Chick-fil-A sauce, I was excited to try the new sauce-flavored chips. But the excitement didn’t last long.
Starting out, I was excited and hopeful when smelling the chips which smelled just like the sauce. The waffle pattern was a nod to their waffle fries, which I like. But the sauce, I love the sauce. I buy the big bottles from HyVee.
Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed because it tasted as if I had picked up a barbecue chip. Chick-fil-A’s website says that the sauce is “sweet, tangy, and smoky flavor profile, often described as a mix of honey mustard and barbecue sauce.” But the taste was barely there.
I had to eat 4 or 5 chips to actually get the flavor that was intended. It was a pleasant chip if you’re not expecting it to be the sauce flavor, and it was softer than most chips are. However, if I wanted to eat barbecue chips, I would have gotten the barbecue chips.
It was overall a decent chip but very underwhelming.
