The theater department performed the production of “The Suessification of Romeo and Juliet” Feb. 12, 14 and 15. The play consisted of acts from “Romeo and Juliet,” but in a Seussified way. Senior Wyatt Loar was cast as Romeo, and sophomore Grace Marier was casted as Juliet.

“I think the play went really well,” Loar said. “For a while, there at rehearsals we weren’t sure how it was going to go. But we pulled it together, and the show turned out really well.”

The cast and crew rehearsed from Jan. 24 to their last show Feb. 15. Rehearsals were after school until 5 p.m. most weekdays.

“There were a lot of kids involved,” theater teacher Danielle Trebus said. “We had almost 50 kids involved in the show from crew to cast.”

Originally, the play was going to be “Harvey,” but the department made the change to “Romeo and Juliet” to accommodate a bigger cast size.
