Worlds of Fun is usually open from April to October and has Halloween Haunt starting in mid-September to close out the year. But this upcoming season, Worlds of Fun will be open during winter of 2017 for a new “Winter Fest.”

 It will contain holiday lights, live entertainment and different treats. This new event will include roasted turkey, hot chocolate and peppermint fudge. Kids will also be able to see Santa.

Junior Regan Bates is a worker at Worlds of fun.

“We don’t know too much about it yet, but I do know that Cyclone Sam will be changed to be a blizzard theme,” said Bates.

Kids will be able to do crafts and make cookies with Mrs. Claus and go ice skating. Certain rides will be open depending on the weather. And the main attraction for Winter Fest will be the Christmas light display.

Some Cedar Fair parks have been doing Winterfest in the past, but our Worlds of Fun was chosen to expand the experience in 2017.

“The Steel Hawk will turn into a Christmas tree that we will light up every night. It will also include ice skating and festive activities all through the park. There will be no increase in season pass price, so customers will be getting even more for the same price,” said public relations associate Erick Burke

Worlds of Fun can now be enjoyed throughout all seasons of the year starting in 2017.
