After multiple weeks of success, the Scholar Bowl team took time today to have an end-of-semester party.
Last weekend, they won the William Chrisman JV Tournament. The champions were Ryan Mendenhall, captain Willow Azevedo, Rowan Neal, Ayden Foltz and Sam Hubler.
They had a second team in that tournament, and those competitors made a comeback after two first-round losses to win their next two, one in sudden death overtime. Brady Alexander had the overtime tossup for the win.
The weekend before, JV and Varsity competed at the Lee’s Summit North Bronco Bowl.
Varsity earned fifth place with a 7-2 record, losing to St. Joseph Central High School by four questions and to rival Lee’s Summit High School by three questions. They beat two of their other rivals — Oak Park and Rockhurst high schools.
