Win a Car at After Prom

After Prom 2014

Prom is being held on April 26, and is quickly approaching. With tickets selling, it will be a night to remember for both seniors and juniors. There are many options for activities after prom, such as dining out at places like I-HOP or kicking it back at the movies.

After prom is another option. This alternative is safer than going out and partying. There will be a lot of things to do at the after party. No one is required to go to prom to attend after prom. This year will be the first year that there has been a car as a grand prize, along with a chocolate fountain and mechanical bull. There’s something for everyone. Everything at the after party will be free.

“Prom after party is supposed to provide a fun sober atmosphere, in a peer-pressure free environment,” said prom committee leader Rebecca Graham. “It’s really helpful to parents because it gives them a piece of mind, knowing that their child is at a party they are aware of, instead of worrying. After prom will hopefully help one or more students make happy prom memories, instead of sitting at a party and drinking.”

When asked about the party, junior Grace Carlson said, “I think it’s going to be really cool, and it’s a safe alternative. It’s my first year going, and I’m looking forward to the chocolate fountain.” It looks like a lot of people plan to go this year. “There are lots of actives and attractions, but I think the car will be the biggest one. About 400 juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to get a chance to win the car. So with that, we hope that more people will attend.”

“It was a very enjoyable thing to do,” said senior Luke Lockhart. “This will be my second year. Last year my motivations were the prizes at the end, but this year it’s the car. It’s a good place to go. Most students don’t want to go to the school, but I don’t mind it.”

Both students say they’d recommend and persuade their friends to go.
