Every year Staley choir host an annual Christmas concert the last week before winter break to help spread the Christmas cheer. This year, the auditorium was decorated with poinsettias and Christmas trees.

“ We have a professional orchestra come in and the stage is covered with poinsettias.” Said senior Sarah Queen.

When Tracy Resseguie gave the first command, the choir took a deep breath and filled the auditorium with a beautiful song completing the Christmas atmosphere. When the senior slideshow began and suddenly the auditorium suddenly became filled with emotion. Parents and seniors became teary-eyed having old memories come flowing back .The concert ended with the audience singing along with the choir to classic Christmas tunes.

In order for this to run smoothly, loads of preparation and sacrifice were required. Sectional practices have been quite intense and choir classes have became more stressful in the days leading up to the concert. Losing strong singers who have graduated is always hard, and it causing new people to step up to the plate; which is what makes each year new and different.

“We have put in a lot of work, I’ve had to have sectional practice in the morning to be able to focus on our parts.” Said senior Tyler Reynolds.

When the Orchestra played the last note, Resseguie wished everyone a Merry Christmas and the choir flowed off the stage.
