Taylor, Collins Win Track State Championships

At+the+state+track+and+state+meet+May+25%2C+R.J.+Collins+earned+the+Class+5+Boys+state+Championship+in+the+200m+dash+with+a+record+time+of+21.23.+He+ran+a+10.56+and+took+3rd+in+the+100m+dash.+Shane+Smith+took+6th+in+the+200m+dash%2C+finishing+off+the+weekend+as+a+medalist+in+the+200m%2C+400m+and+the+4x200m.+Smith+placed+6th+in+the+400m+with+a+time+of+49.27.+The+boys+4x200+relay+of+Shafer%2C+Smith%2C+Freudenburg+and+Collins+took+third%2C+running+a+1%3A26%3A67.++On+May+24%2C+Katy+Taylor+earned+the+Class+5+Girls+Discus+State+Championship+with+a+throw+of+45.69m.+

At the state track and state meet May 25, R.J. Collins earned the Class 5 Boys state Championship in the 200m dash with a record time of 21.23. He ran a 10.56 and took 3rd in the 100m dash. Shane Smith took 6th in the 200m dash, finishing off the weekend as a medalist in the 200m, 400m and the 4x200m. Smith placed 6th in the 400m with a time of 49.27. The boys 4×200 relay of Shafer, Smith, Freudenburg and Collins took third, running a 1:26:67. On May 24, Katy Taylor earned the Class 5 Girls Discus State Championship with a throw of 45.69m.
