At the state track and state meet May 25, R.J. Collins earned the Class 5 Boys state Championship in the 200m dash with a record time of 21.23. He ran a 10.56 and took 3rd in the 100m dash. Shane Smith took 6th in the 200m dash, finishing off the weekend as a medalist in the 200m, 400m and the 4x200m. Smith placed 6th in the 400m with a time of 49.27. The boys 4x200 relay of Shafer, Smith, Freudenburg and Collins took third, running a 1:26:67. On May 24, Katy Taylor earned the Class 5 Girls Discus State Championship with a throw of 45.69m.
