Over time, people have strived to express themselves in many ways such as clothing, hairstyles, shoes, cars and accessories. In high school, one popular accessory is bags – more specifically, backpacks.
“I picked the backpack because I like that it’s different,” junior Leihani Triplett said. “I knew no one was going to have it. It has a lot of detail and the material is nice. I got my backpack from Zumiez.”
Some buy them online, and others purchase them at stores.
“I picked the backpack because I wanted to be different, but then I found out later that everyone was getting them,” freshman Eriberto Venegas said. “I got my backpack at Crown Center.”
SprayGround backpacks, also known as red tag backpacks, have made their way onto campus and have become more popular among the student body.
The growing popularity of that brand of backpacks has brought both happiness and concerns. A major problem kids tend to worry about is their tags being stolen or taken.
“The tags help you get a new bag if it gets damaged, so if it gets a hole then you can get a new one. Normally, people take tags to get new tags,” junior Leihani Triplett said.
People who own Sprayground Backpacks have come up with different hacks to keep their red tags safe.
“My best hack to prevent people from taking it would be putting superglue on it or taking it off and storing it somewhere,” Triplett said.
She’s not the only one using glue.
“I put nail glue on the little red part,” sophomore Ramoni Castle said.
Most buyers keep the red Sprayground tag on their back to show it is authentic. Some people take them off for security.
“My hack is keeping it somewhere safe, I have mine in a safe at my house,” Venegas said.
Not everyone worries as much about it. Sophomore Luke Wilson said the tags are more difficult to steal than other tags.
“It’s not like the Nike tags,” Wilson said. “People have to unscrew it instead of just taking it off, so it’s harder to do.”
Some question why the tags are so important. That is due to the Sprayground Backpack return policy.
