New Year, New Releases

New Fashion, Entertainment Coming Soon

     In addition to all the traditional New Year’s Resolutions and “I haven’t seen you since last year” jokes, the new year also brings release dates closer. From movies and shows, to books and albums, and even clothes and shoes, there is a lot for people to anticipate releasing in the new year.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Savannah Keen, 9

     “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is a highly anticipated release due to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ever-rising popularity; especially for freshman Savannah Keen. It is set to release May 6.

     “I’m excited to see what happens in the series because a lot has been happening,” Keen said. “I’m excited to see how it all plays out.”

Air Jordan 12 WMNS “Hyper Royal”

Da’Nayja Cobbins, 10 

     People also anticipate sneaker releases. Sophomore Da’Nayja Cobbins is excited about the Air Jordan 12 WMNS “Hyper Royal.” They’re a limited drop and are set to release in July.

     “I’m a sneakerhead,” Cobbins said. “They’re my favorite color; they’re blue.”

Mitski album, “Laurel Hell”

Nadine Osborne, 11

     Junior Nadine Osborne is excited about the new Mitski album, “Laurel Hell,” that is set to release Feb. 4. As of Jan. 12, Mitski had released four singles. 

     “It’s exciting because the last time she released music was 2017, and lots of fans assumed that she wouldn’t be coming back,” Osborne said. “But we get an entire album this year.”

     Osborne has been listening to Mitski since her freshman year, and since then, she has 

become one of her favorite artists.

Atlanta, Season 3

Kai White, 12

     T.V. shows often leave fans waiting years for new seasons. Senior Kai White is excited about season 3 of “Atlanta,” which is set to release March 24. The latest season of the show was released in 2018.

     “It’s one of my favorite shows that’s come out recently,” White said. “It’s funny, and it’s also kind of surreal. It’s a weird type of humor.”
