The average high schooler in the United States spends 2.7 hours every night on homework, according to a study by The Washington Post. Although it’s difficult to avoid, there might be a way to make studying more enjoyable. There are many elements that go into finding the perfect study spot. This may include scenery, access to caffeine, noise levels or comfortable seating. There are several great study spots that are all just a short drive away!

The ambience and environment that Starbucks has created is perfect for romanticizing studying. The background noise is great for focus, and the warm lighting is comforting and cozy.

After recently completing renovations, the North Oak branch of Midcontinent Public Library has become a popular spot for students. There are seating areas scattered throughout, including large tables that can seat groups of eight, which is perfect for studying with friends or a study group. The library features two floors and private study rooms available by reservation. New renovations added huge windows, and the modern aesthetic implements matte black and wooden accents, which creates the perfect environment for study motivation.

Located directly next to the North Oak Library, Renegade Coffee is just a tiny fraction of the library’s size. Despite this, it has just as much to offer. The environment is cozy and intimate, and the building has multiple tiny rooms with seating which is perfect for someone who likes to be isolated while studying. The business is also family owned and has a large menu and many treats and snacks available. The lighting creates a warm environment, but they also have outdoor seating for the daytime or late-night studying.

Panera Bread,

Locations Vary

Students have found themselves stressed on a Sunday night and looking back on the work they didn’t complete that weekend. Because some Starbucks locations and all library branches close in the early afternoon, Panera Bread’s late closing time on weekends can be helpful in these situations. Even better, this isn’t the only thing that sets Panera apart from other study spots. For only $11.99 every month, Panera’s Unlimited Sip Club Members have access to a subscription to their drink menu, including caffeinated beverages, which is great for long study sessions. While there, they can have regular refills the entire time. If they leave, they can come back every two hours for a new drink.
