Freshman Works to Become Sewing Master

After seeing that her aunt needed some help with her home-based business called QteePa2teesboutique, freshman Ashlyn Dohrmann stepped in.

She started to learn sewing, and it took Dohrmann about a month before she was up to speed.

“In the long run, it was worth the time,” she said.

She has made more than 20 burp cloths, one blanket and several types of baby clothes and T-  shirts. She started during Christmas time three years ago when she made her first blanket, which took a month.

“The blanket may have taken a long time or what seemed to be a long time, but it was worth the time so I could be able to spend time with my aunt,” Dohrmann said.

Dohrmann normally helps her aunt in the summer and said sewing together makes for good bonding time. They talk about their problems, and they help each other get through tough times and situations. Dohrmann says

“I feel like I can open up more to my aunt than anyone, “Dohrmann said.

Since Dohrmann started sewing, She and her aunt have become close. They go on vacations together like when Ashlyn, her aunt, her uncle and two cousins went to Branson for a couple days with Dohrmann’s family.

Dohrmann said she plans to continue to help her aunt in her business.
