Originating from San Jose, Costa Rica, Gabby Knox and her family traveled back this summer, visiting her dad’s side of the family.

“It might be sunny and warm, but you literally experience each season every day,” Knox said.

Knox said she saw miles of mountains, vast seas, and beaches.

“Costa Rica is very laid back. The people are so welcoming and humble,” Knox said.

The roads of Costa are made similar to the ones here. Knox saw many houses built with gates  because there was a time where the country was very dangerous.

The food there mostly consists of seafood.

“Everywhere you go, you’re always going to see a soccer field and kids playing trying to make a dream out of it,” Knox said. “I really want to go back and spend time with my family especially my little cousin Sebastian who would constantly bug me about playing soccer and make fun of me when I would pronounce things wrong, but I would also want to experience things more of my family’s culture.”
While Knox was in Costa Rica for this summer, she experienced many new different views and architecture. Knox got to visit her family she hasn’t seen in years and experience the land and also how the cities were built. She can’t wait to go back and experience it all again.
