Staley Television, STTV, brings students the daily news about the school. Lately, the announcements have been over the intercoms throughout the school from principal Clark Mershon. Some students have been wondering what has happened to STTV in the past couple of weeks.
“We are having a lot of computer issues. Our program is having glitches,” said broadcast journalism adviser Megan Cleveland. “We are currently having people looking in to the issues and replacing the software.”
The main issue is the technological problems with the programs and computers used by the staff. They have not been able to use their studio due to the glitches and crashes in the software.
“The entire system just crashed,” said sophomore Haley Tilsworth. “I think we’re probably going to be down for a while.”
The broadcast journalism class is still working on videos for the school and for competitions. Videos are occasionally posted to the Staley website. The only downfall is that they cannot share them on the morning announcements.
“We are still using the website, Facebook and Twitter to communicate our videos with the rest of the school,” said junior Jared Koller. “But it’s not as good as if we had the morning show.”
There is still no determining when STTV will be working again, but the staff is doing as much as they can to get it back up and running smoothly for the year.
