The boys varsity baseball team just won their district championship on May 14. They defeated Park Hill High school 17-6, advancing on to sectionals on Tuesday May 21.
“It was a great game,” said coach David Wilson.
Varsity baseball is the only team still playing. The JV and C teams seasons now finished.
“I am very proud of how far we’ve come,” said senior Zach Stoneciepher. “The best is yet to come.”
This is the first time in Staley’s history that the boys have won districts.
“I hope we will be able to make it to state,” said senior Brian Regan.
The boy’s next game will be against Fort Osage at 4:00 p.m.
“I am very excited about our season,” said Wilson. “If the boys keep playing like they have been playing, I expect them to go far.”
The boys will now continue on to sectionals.
