Barry Crilley, Ed.D., is an assistant principal, and his favorite part about the school so far is the student body.
“It’s nice to see all the positive energy the student body brings,” Crilley said.
He said his favorite part of being an assistant principal is helping students and teachers grow. This is his seventh year of being an administrator; before that he spent 14 years as a special education teacher and a math teacher. He said he is all about positive energy. He would love for students to come up to him and say hi.
Q- What’s your go-to snack?
A- “I’m a cookie guy, any type of cookies, frosted, raisins, anything cookies.”
Q- If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?
A– “It would be going to new mountain ranges that I haven’t been to, so maybe like the Arches.”
Q- What’s your favorite Hobby ?
A- “I like to play Pokemon with my kids and collecting and playing video games.”
Lauren Hasenohr, Assistant Principal

Pathway: School of Public Services and Communications
Lauren Hasenohr is an assistant principal, and she said her favorite part is that every day looks different, and she never knows what her days are going to look like. The 2013 Staley alumni taught ELA at her alma mater for seven years. For the last two years she asked for more responsibility and was an administrative intern. She said she is excited to embrace her role and get to know more students. She wants to make the school the best place it can be. “One Falcon, One Family,” is very important to her.
Q-Whats your favorite sports team?
A- ”I’m from Kansas City, so definitely a Chiefs fan, Royals, Sporting KC, KC Current.”
Q- If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?
A- ”I would love to visit somewhere in Europe that has some history, like Italy.”
Q- What’s your favorite movies/shows?
A- ”I love rom coms. You got the comedy and romance. Anytime there’s a new one out on Netflix, me and my husband are out there watching it.”
Brandon McCoy, Ed.D.; Activities and Athletics Director
Location: Activities & Athletics Office
Brandon McCoy, Ed.D., is the new Activities Director. His favorite part is being able to help the adults as much as the kids. Before he was an administrator he was a band director at Oak Park, Ray Pec and Excelsior Springs high schools. He said he became an administrator because he loved planning trips, taking care of the budget and being more in control.
Q-What’s your favorite movies/shows?
A- “I watch the same shows I’ve watched for the past 15 years: ‘30 Rock,’ ‘Seinfeld’ and ‘Only Murders In The Building.’”
Q- What’s your go-to drink/food?
A- “I love coffee. I drink it all day from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. For snacks, it would be peanut M&Ms.”
Q- If you could be any animal what would it be?
A- “I would choose to be a big cat or small cat because they sleep a lot.”
Vincent Potts, Assistant Principal

Assistant Principal Vincent Potts said his favorite part of being an administrator is having a wider impact on a greater number of students, as well as being able to see students grow up and do great things. Although he is new to the school, he said loves being in the building and loves the staff. Before he started working as an administrator, he was a middle school and high school ELA teacher. He also worked at a law firm in Chicago, which gave him good experiences.
Q- What is your go-to snack when watching games/movies?
A- “Whenever I’m trying to have a healthy snack, I would say pistachios or popcorn. An unhealthy snack might be chips and dip.”
Q- What’s your favorite Hobby?
A- “My favorite hobby is art. I don’t get to make a lot of time for it, but it is a passion of mine. I like being creative, and I don’t allow myself to do it.”
Q- What is your dream vacation?
A- “There are many places I would go, but I love jerk chicken, so I would choose to go to Jamaica.”
Dustin Sollars, Assistant to the Principal
Location: Main Office
Dustin Sollars is the assistant to the principal. This is his first year in administration, and he said he likes having a different challenge and being on the other side of things he’s never had to worry about. He also likes getting to know students better, but he doesn’t like having to discipline them and see them doing things they shouldn’t be doing. He said he has really enjoyed being at the school because it’s a big school with lots of energy and opportunities. For about 15 years, he taught English/AP Language and seven years of an internship class.
Q- What are your favorite things to read?
A- “I love nonfiction, historical nonfiction and things that are heavily researched.”
Q- If you could travel to one place where would you go?
A- ”I’m a big fan of all exclusive resorts. I like to be lazy on vacation, so anywhere with that and more of a beachy-tropical place.
Q- Favorite food?
A- “I love hot dogs. I have a hot dog roller, and during Chiefs season I would roll hot dogs all day.”
