With school getting out soon and summer coming up, there’s are many places to visit, upcoming events and concerts to kill time and make summer memorable.

When looking for a snack and a fun place to hang out, go to Summer Sno Co. With affordable prices and a location in front of Sunfresh, this shaved ice hut is a must-visit to cool off in the summer heat. A small shaved ice is $3, a medium is $4, and a large is $5. They have loyalty cards, and after buying 10, the 11^th one is free.

“When we don’t work, me and my friends like going to get shaved ice at Summer Sno Co. Everytime we go, we try out different flavors,” said junior Ethan Westhoff.

Another snack shop to visit is Donutology. Located in Westport, Mo., it offers a variety of donuts and coffee from The Roasterie. They also offer creation of personalized mini donuts with different toppings, cake flavors and icings.

Another thing to do is go to a concert. Many big artists are coming to Kansas City during the summer on tour. J. Cole will be at the Midland on Sunday, June 11. Tickets range from $81-$242 on Stubhub. Coming on June 29, Ed Sheeran is performing at the Sprint Center with prices from $143 to $3,290 on Stubhub. Another band coming to Kansas City is Alt-J. They are coming to Starlight on Aug. 3, and tickets range from $15-$344 on Vividseats.

“I spend most of my time going to concerts in the summer, I love seeing my favorite artists with my best friends,” said junior Samantha Perez.
