“Vote Annika for a brighter future.” That was the future Student Council president’s motto during the January election.
StuCo held the annual officer election Jan. 16-24, and as a result, rising senior Annika Adiga was elected as the student body president for the 2025-2026 school year.
“I was really motivated to run because just seeing how amazing our Student Council and student body already is,” said Adiga. “It inspired me to take further leadership action.”
When results came out, Adiga was in the building working for the school.
“I was decorating for ASU’s Lunar New Year,” Adiga said. “I remember seeing when I actually won, I was paper macheing a snake head. So that was pretty epic.”
Adiga said she wanted to connect to the community at large.
“I want more group outreach and for it to be more effective and amazing for everyone,” Adiga said. “Not only for Falcons, but for our area as well.”
Along with her plans for community outreach, Adiga said she wants to connect our school more.
“My main goal is involving StuCo with other clubs as well as increasing what we do around school,” Adiga said. “I think that our Student Council does really good at things like dances and in-school activities, but I really want to expand it and kind of push the limit of how far we can reach.”
Adiga had plans to increase involvement with a diverse range of clubs.
“I’d like to work more with Culture and Climate for things like diversity assemblies,” Adiga said. “I want to see how we can expand the impacts of what they already do and using our large student body to up that essentially.”
Accompanying her diversity plans, Adiga wanted to work with the Special Olympics.
“I’m currently working to make us a Unified Champion School, which is a school that celebrates diversity and inclusion,” Adiga said. “So doing initiatives such as the polar plunge to raise money for Special Olympics.”
Most of all, Adiga is excited for the upcoming school year.
“I love StuCo, everyone is so passionate,” Adiga said. “It’s so exciting to see everyone care so much and be so inspired to give back to our school every day. Most of all, I’m excited to see StuCo and other club collaborations. I’m just excited to see Staley become an even more hype and fun place for every student to come to school to.”
Other winners were Londyn Parker for vice president, Anna Gordon for secretary, Lawson Stuhlsatz for treasurer, and Aarylin Holt for historian.
