Falcon Plaza Takes Shape

This year the school will be adding new furniture to the patio in front of the school. The eight chairs and two benches are a gift from the class of 2011.

“It’s going to take several days,” said principal Clark Mershon. “We’re ready to get this going.”

Trash cans will be placed out with the furniture along. Umbrellas embroidered with the falcon logo will be set up on the tables. After school, however, the patio will be off-limits to students.

“It will last a long time,” said head custodian Timothy Armstrong. “So, hopefully everyone will take good care of it.”

Some students are looking forward to the freedom that the plaza will allow during Falcon Hour, but several have voiced worry about how many students will try to eat there at a time.

“I would eat outside with my friends on nice days,” said freshman Rebecca Robbins. “I would hope they’d eventually expand it so we can have more room.”

The patio is planned to be completed and available to students by this spring.
