Summer Sales

The end of the school year is here, and with that comes with a summer sales. Whether someone is working all summer, doing summer school or just bored, there are some places that make it cheaper and more convenient to grab a quick bite. Some popular ones around here are QuikTrip, Sonic, and Dunkin’ Donuts. QuikTrip has 79 cent drinks, Sonic has half price shakes after 8 p.m. and Dunkin’ gives people a free drink every 200 points with an account with them all summer long.

QuikTrip’s 79 cent BigQ drinks sale started at the beginning of May. Sophomore Colin Keller said he goes to QuikTrip often.

“I get the Big Q all the time because they are cheap,” Keller said.

Apps for these food chains are becoming very popular as well. Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, QuikTrip and many more eating establishments have apps that offer good deals and coupons. Having an account within the Starbucks app can get someone a reward every 125 “stars” where every $1 equals one star. The Dunkin’ Donuts app gives people a free drink every 200 points where $1 equals five points. And the QuikTrip app gives people a free drink when they download the app and informs people about price reductions. Both Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks give the people with an account a free drink on their birthday as well.

Sophomore Kyla Gaines has had the Dunkin’ Donuts app for three months. She said she goes to Dunkin on school mornings at least 4 out of 5 school days.

“I like the Dunkin app because when I spend a certain amount, it gives me free drinks,” sophomore Kyla Gaines said.

Being in high school, it can be hard to get much money to spend on food day in and day out. For the students who don’t have jobs or don’t have a lot of money, these deals can become very convenient, especially in the summer.
