Scholar Bowl Wins Districts

Scholar Bowl placed first in the MSHSAA District Championship, April 20 at Staley High School.

“It was a very successful day,” said senior Ryan Link. “The team and I had a lot of confidence going into this.”

The team made it to the championship by a close call in the semifinals.

“It was a very close call in the semifinals,” said senior Lizzie Scholl “We only won by 10-20 points.”

Competing against Park Hill High School twice in districts, the first match came down to two questions, and then in the second match the team won against the Trojans by 250 points.

“Whenever we go to tournaments together, we always end up having a good time” said senior Sammy Sanchez. “We have a whole lot of fun despite the intense moments that will come around.”

The team will now advance to regionals.
